Then why is there a hell. First off shouldn't an all powerful being be able to destroy it. And secondly, wouldn't god know that some of his creations wouldn't believe and would be condemned to hell. If he's truly loving, why would he create them even though he knows they'll end up suffering in hell? This is probably the biggest sticking point for me in my walk...

I've met someone from aa?

Let me prelude by saying that I have 3 family members that either are in, or have been in the program and I don't agree with aa methodology and theory. I recently met someone from aa, who I really like. We hit it off really well, communicate well and seem to be very compatable. I quickly found out that he is "breaking the rules" by seeing me. His sponsor has givin him flack, telling him that he shouldn't have any entanglements at this point and even when he thinks that he's ready, it should only be somone from aa. I don't like how aa demands that one deny him/herself all life experiences when they are there to only strip one bad habit from their life. I'm not conviced that addiction really is an incurable disease. Let's say that I have an incurable tumor, could I simply will it away? The answer is no. However, millions of people have quit drinking, over eating, biting their nails, smoking, etc. by sheer willpower alone. That's because addiciton is not a disease, it's a habit or a behavior. But I do think aa wishes to brain wash one into thinking that alcoholism or any addiction is an incurable disease, to keep them coming back, giving money and bringing in new members. This is what makes me feel that aa's methodology is junk psycology and just another pontificatious dogma and seems to be incestuously cult like. However, as mentioned earlier, I really like this guy and want to date him, what should I do?

Since he was a year and a half my friend started painting her son's nails, putting makeup on him and dressing him up in little girl's clothes. god should be capable if he is all powerful, and he should be willing if his prominent desire is to obtain our love and acceptance. I believe by making himself directly observable to everyone (he could make it so we know its god without blowing our minds if hes all powerful) he would be setting the best conditions possible to gain our love and acceptance. we could still choose to reject him so free will applies. the best conditions to genuinely love someone is to interface with them directly, its easier to come to love someone whose existence isnt debatable. I can play the piano pretty well but always use sheet music. I have taught myself, and I know that there is a "methodology" (for want of a better word!) to which chords you play for which notes. Is there somewhere I can find out more information about which chords are which and which notes they sound best with? I would like to write some piano arrangements and am fine with the melody (right hand) but just don't know where to start with the left hand!

My friend has an 40in LCD HDTV with HDMI, and I have an old 27in CRT type TV with RCA inputs. I play Black Ops a lot on my Xbox 360 with this TV and am a relatively decent player, but when I play on his TV it completely throws me off my game. Everything feels slower, like my character is constantly a half second behind. And when i look left and right there is a much more annoying blur effect. Ok basically, I've just turned 17 and am currently in my schools firsts team as a flanker. I'm 6ft1 and 85 kgs, after lots of weights work because I really wanted to play forwards this year after playing backs the rest of my life. I have studied in the Singapore local secondary school. I would say that the education system is too exam oriented. For instance, in class we'll be going over exam papers because that's gonna prepare the students directly for exams. It is hardly about learning (unless it applies to the exams) nor about encouraging students to be thinking. In English class, we will work on past exam papers rather than do assignments that could deepen our passion for the English language, like writing essays on literature. Most of the teachers like to teach through the books (that is they just refer to the textbook as opposed to sharing with us interesting materials). With this kind of teaching method, it had instill in some students the mindset that they don't have to listen in class since they could go home and refer to the textbook to learn. This show the value of the classroom experience there.

In the very early grades, we were taught about the pre-Christian roots of many Christian holidays, such as Christmas, Easter, St. Valentine's Day and more. I liked it until you said it was about pirates. After reading the plot I was less than enthusiastic. It's a good plot, but I was prepped for something in a completely different direction. It seems odd that a deity wouldn't write an original book--so the fact that these stories predate the bible and the bible stories sound suspiciously like they were taken from them--at least like the no transitional fossils idea should be suffiecent to make one question not whether there is a god--but whether the book is literal or not literal. His spirit speaks to us with feelings. Some people call it a conscience. We get the feeling something is very right or maybe not so right this way. Sure our parents hopefully teach us right from wrong but even without actually knowing we still can feel one way or another. The Bible was written by men putting what God has taught them into words by use of parables and sermons. Not every story in the Bible is an actual event. Many are just lessons to be learned. Sometimes I believe those writers misunderstood what the feelings God gave them or they just put down their own beliefs and that is why there are many contradictions in the Bible. Translation from the original Hebrew or Latin also causes problems. The Bible is a guide only. If you really want to know what God wants you to do - listen to your heart, That is where he lives.
