I have a heat meter which records total volume of hot water in cubic meters. How can I calculate the energy?

So if my meter tells me I am using 50 cubic meters per month - how much can the landlord charge me. Is there a way I can calculate the energy in kWh. What would be a good methodology for apportioning these costs?
