What is the shape of an electron, proton, neutron?

I've been browsing the web for an answer and most people give the lame un-backed up answer of they all look like spheres. But then some people say that they are just conceptual ideas, especially the electron. So what is the truth behind this? I've even heard that we've never seen in atom, and some say we have, and some say we have calculated proof that they exist in something like the same way that scientists know other planets outside our solar system exist but we've never seen them. (only similar in analogy but not methodology of the discovery) So what is up with all of this?
