Catholics why the Catechism rather than the Bible?

I have heard from many Catholics on this board who quote the catechism rather than what the Bible teaches, the Holy Word of God. Why is that? If Jesus said what He did, why do you then use the catechism which is a man-made doctrine as your basis for a religion. Christ alone is your salvation, NOT a religion like Catholism. You are heading towards the "wide gate" where Jesus said "many will say Lord Lord let me in, didn't I do all these works in your name? Didn't I cast out demons, etc., and I will say never knew you, go away you workers of lawlessness" (From Matthew 7) Catholics pray and pray to wrong person, and seem to diss Jesus in the process as He can't save you by His dying on the cross?..sorry to be the one to inform you.
