What are the significant differences between a hose and a tree trunk that allow the tree to move water to grea?
If you were to try and move water through a hose up to the top of a large tree, say 50 meters, you would have to pay a lot of money for a fairly powerful pump. Yet a tree routinely moves lots of water even higher than that without investing in expensive machinery. What are the significant differences between a hose and a tree trunk that allow the tree to move water to great heights? Explain just how these differences account for the tree's ability to move water.
